Case Study

Cycle events organiser Black Rat Cycling asked us to build them an app which would allow them to stay in touch with the large number of riders who attend their events.

We created an app which allows users to book to attend an event as well as view full details of upcoming events and cycling trips run by Black Rat.

The Push Messaging function is well used, especially in the run up to an event when they need to get information out fast to groups of people.

We also gave them a “Geo Fencing” function which will ping a message to a user’s phone when they are in the vicinity of a selected location (also great for cafe’s and restaurants). Black Rat created some cycling routes with instructions and when a rider followed the route at various points they were pinged details of the next stage of the route. This proved very successful and popular and indeed, we used the same functionality to allow a French skiing chalet to create routes around the Portes du Soleil ski area in France and Switzerland.
